You’re an asparagus!

Spring is your season – and it’s the season for asparagus too. It’s in spring that you come alive again, raring to go. You love being out and about. And you don’t necessarily need company, because you can keep yourself busy. Asparagus grows slowly and steadily. You too attach great importance to your goals, working constantly until you have achieved them. Asparagus is one of the most demanding of vegetables, because it can only be harvested three years after it has been planted. You also have a penchant for luxury and like to dress simply and elegantly. Asparagus is only available once a year. Making yourself «scarce» is similarly one of your specialities. Try and plan in more time for your loved ones – it will certainly be worthwhile.

Did you know?

Asparagus is an ancient medicinal plant and helps with gastrointestinal complaints and bladder problems.

You’re a leek!

Spring is your season! You spend lots of time outdoors in nature. You’ve got impressive stamina and don’t let obstacles get in your way. Leeks are also very hardy and adaptable vegetables – and they’re not afraid of the cold. You like being alone but get on well with everyone and are versatile. Leeks are similarly highly versatile in the kitchen, going into soups, casseroles and salads, plus a great deal more. Not everyone appreciates your active nature and it can even be exhausting for you. Try not doing anything for once – that’s also allowed!

Did you know?

Leeks are true vitamin bombs and also contain iron, calcium and magnesium.

You’re a tomato!

Beautiful, healthy and colourful! These are the characteristics that you share with the tomato. As soon as the warm summer season gets going, there’s no reining in your energy. But you’re a loner. Tomatoes should also be stored on their own, separate from other vegetables and fruits. In winter, you turn into a couch potato. And, just like the tomato, you need sunlight to survive. That’s why you’ll happily enjoy a day on the sofa when it’s cold. When you get upset, others are best taking cover, because that’s when you see red! Try taking a deep breath in tough situations and looking calmly for a solution – it’s bound to work.

Did you know?

Sweet cherry tomatoes contain more sugar than beef tomatoes (which have a high water content) but they also contain more micronutrients like vitamins. Tomatoes are healthy and low in calories at all events!

You’re a melon!

As soon as the warm sun starts to shine, you come alive and get active. The melon too needs warmth and sunlight to grow. Your affectionate and generous nature goes down well, yet what you like best is spending time with your close friends. A small number of melons are also grown in Switzerland. As soon as the sun disappears, however, you make yourself scarce and hide away inside your own four walls. Try venturing out of your comfort zone for once and tackling something new.

Did you know?

The melon isn’t a fruit but a vegetable!

You’re a carrot!

Just like the carrot, you’re full of energy and drive the whole year round. And you’re in top form once again in the autumn. You don’t let the cold winter months get you down and you’re resistant to most diseases. Every now and then you like to stay in bed longer – the carrot also needs 80–90 days before it is harvested. But it then contains a wealth of healthy vitamins and nutrients. This orange vegetable grows straight and determinedly out of the ground and you too work hard, focusing on your goals. You’re more of a loner though, and communication isn’t necessarily your strong point. You remain steadfast in adverse situations but find it hard to accept new ideas. Try to remain as flexible as possible and get involved in something unexpected for once.

Did you know?

Carrots are very easy to store, which is why they are available all year round.

You’re a pumpkin!

The colourful autumn is your season, and it’s the pumpkin’s season too. Not excessively warm and not excessively cold either – that’s precisely when you’re comfortable. You’re a highly creative person and love being artistic in all the different senses. The pumpkin is likewise creatively inclined and can serve as a decoration or be carved. You’re happiest going around with your closest friends, since large crowds make you anxious. Try to come out of your shell more with people you don’t know and forge new contacts. You’ll see that there are many more nice people out there who you would welcome spending time with.

Did you know?

You can tell whether a pumpkin is ripe by tapping it. It’s when it sounds hollow and muffled that it tastes best!

You’re kale!

Cold and cosy winter days are what you love best – just like kale. Despite the cool temperatures, you’re happiest spending time outdoors in nature. You also like having lots of people around you and having fun. Kale needs time to grow and you too need time to come to terms with anything new. That’s not really a problem, because once you’ve been gripped by something there’s no stopping you. Try and allow yourself more time when learning something new and don’t get frustrated if things don’t work out straightaway.

Did you know?

Kale tolerates the cold and withstands temperatures down to minus 15°C.

You’re a Brussels sprout!

Snow, skiing and snowshoe hiking – the cold is your favourite time of year, just like for Brussels sprouts. You like being active outdoors in nature and are not put off even when temperatures fall below zero. You love spending time with your friends and family. But your active nature also takes its toll on your strength. Give yourself a break from time to time and relax so that you can then start up again with fresh impetus. Brussels sprouts don’t keep very long, by the way, and should be used up quickly.

Did you know?

Brussels sprouts not only supply a great deal of nutrients and are low in calories but also have a high protein content.
